Volkswagen Passat 1.8т AWM › Logbook › Repair of the trunk lid.

There was a problem the light in the trunk was not lit and the icon of the open trunk was not displayed on the instrument panel. At first I just wanted to buy a castle, I needed a new money, so I had to look at the disassembly. Asked from 1-1,5k for the lock. But as it turned out, having traversed the dismantling, I did not find the option that suited me. Plus I have an American, and there is a lever with two holes, under two cables one from the drive, and the second from the handle that is inside the trunk.

He took the lock is attached with two nuts. Dismantled it and pulled out the tip, saw that it just dropped off the contact and stayed in the connector.

Searching in the catalog it turns out to be sold separately. In the end, I ordered:

Cut off the old connector. it was oxidized and leaving it was not an option.

We fasten the lock back and go to experiment.

Everything is working. Now install the trunk lid back and do not forget to connect the cable from the handle that is in the passenger compartment to the trunk opening mechanism.
